Hey Guys!  I finally have the giveaway that I mentioned ready for you all.  Before I get into that, I want to apologize if this blog post isn’t completely coherent.  I’m watching game 5 of the NLDS baseball playoffs and my Cincinnati Reds are in a must-win situation and I’m a bit nervous while sitting here in bed watching.  Now that that’s out of the way.

A few weeks ago, I was contacted by Jaimie from Bayleaf Communications about a book that she thought would interest me for my blog and she said we could do a giveaway as well.  After reading through the book, Daily Decadence, The Art of Sensual Living by Sherri Dobay, I decided that it was indeed something I was interested in giving away to one of you lucky readers.  See below for the description from the back of the book.

“Sherri Dobay has given wine a sex life.”  – Audrey Wells, Film Director & Screenwriter

“A kindred spirit who knows how to live life to the fullest.”  – Greg Gorman, Photographer & Author

Has your crazybusy life left you uninspired?  Get ready to sit back with a sunset and a class of your favorite wine.  Daily Decadence is here to take you on a sexy adventure full of romantic escapes, simple yet sumptuous meals, creative encounters, horse tales, moonlit escapades and enchanted revelations – all paired with Sherri Dobay’s sassy wine picks and evocative tasting notes.  Designed to inspire, created with love, Daily Decadence will remind you to stop for a moment and focus your awareness softly, opening your senses in all directions to take in your own dazzling world, renewed and enlivened.  She’s in your hands now.

My life has indeed become crazybusy and inspiration is something that I haven’t really had in abundance.  But reading through this book, I slowly felt a little of that inspiration creeping in.  I had never understood what people were talking about when they mention “rich language” until I read this.  Every word makes me feel like I am sitting in a candle-lit bubble bath with a bottle glass of wine in hand and not a worry in the world.  The book is a combination of a cookbook and daily journal.  Sherri sprinkles stories of her life experiences with recipes that sound delicious, yet simple to pull off.  I am definitely excited to try out some of the meals listed and even more excited to try the wine pairings listed with each recipe.  (I swear I don’t have a drinking problem!)

I think this is a book that anyone can enjoy and one that you yourself can enjoy by entering the giveaway here.  Just click on the link below to enter (WordPress doesn’t allow me to embed the giveaway on this page, so I have to add another step).

Happy Labor Day everyone!

I hope you all are enjoying long weekend; thanks to my job, I didn’t get a long weekend but I didn’t have class so I am taking full advantage of just laying in bed and watching TV all day long!

I’m taking a small break from my relaxation to let you know that we have a winner in the e.l.f cosmetics giveaway!!  Thanks to and for helping me find my winner.  And the winner is….  *drumroll please* Jake Sauvage!  Congratulations.  I will be emailing you soon to find out where I should send your prize.

While this giveaway was going on, my little blog hit 30 followers!  If you don’t remember, I had posted back here that when we hit 30 I would host a giveaway.  Keep your eyes peeled for more info on that.  If you didn’t win this one, your next chance is coming up very soon!!

Last night my best friend and I went out for a night on the town.  It turned into less drinking/dancing and more people watching and being amazed (and not in a good way).  We did however still manage to have a great (and completely sober) time together and decided it was time we add a little “sexy” to our wardrobe.  Don’t get me wrong, we always look good whenever we go out but we always kind of joke that we look like school teachers or librarians, some type of cardigan is usually involved.  I told her last night I look fine for a nice date night, not a let’s go out dancing and have fun night.  And I am always joking that if I’m not in a turtleneck, I’m showing too much skin.  But now that we have decided to add more sexy, I have no idea where to start.  I am going to Vegas at the end of this month though, so why not start there.  What kind of things would you suggest??  I don’t want to cannonball into the deep end here, I kind of need to wade out in shallower waters and get used to it a little bit.

I’m looking for something somewhere between these looks:

Maybe something closer to this?

Ok, that kind of breaks me out in a cold sweat with all the leg showing…  I’m definitely going to be hard work to break into this look!  So please, what advice do have for a girl trying to add a little sexy to her going-out looks when she would much rather be rocking yoga pants and a hoodie??  What do you wear for a night out??

Don’t forget, two more days for the giveaway!  Enter now: a Rafflecopter giveaway

I love accessories…  Like LOVE…  Maybe unnaturally.  I have more pairs of shoes than I know what to do with and yet shoes are always one of my first stops in a store.  I have yet to meet a purse I don’t like and am constantly hearing “ANOTHER purse??!!”  whenever I bring home my latest purchase.  I also adore hats but have a harder time with them because I was cursed gifted with a large head, so when I find one that is cute and fits I definitely snatch that right up!  But my real reason for writing today is the bling.  Jewelry.

Maybe because I am female, I was naturally inclined to favor sparkly, shiny baubles.  I mean there is a song based on this and everything (Diamonds are a girl’s best friend).  But there is something about jewelry that just makes me happy.  It doesn’t matter if I am having a fat day and want to stay in sweatpants all day long or feeling like I own the world and rocking an LBD, I can throw on a couple pieces of jewelry and feel complete.  Feel pretty.  It also doesn’t matter if you are a size 2 or a size 22, you can wear jewelry.  Maybe I have put on a couple pounds and struggle while zipping up my jeans, that necklace still fits.

I used to be the type of person who only liked silver jewelry and the simpler the design, the better.  But now I am branching out.  I have some gold pieces, some crazy colorful pieces and some bigger “look at me” pieces.  Thanks to companies like Premier Designs I am constantly updating my jewelry wardrobe.  I just went to a jewelry party this past weekend and picked up 5 new pieces!!  And that’s not counting the necklace I had purchased a week earlier from a different jewelry sales consultant.  Plus I am planning on having my own party later in the year where I will hopefully rake in the free and discounted jewelry to continue updating.

Over the weekend I was doing my usual cleaning/organizing/getting rid of crap routine that I do every few weeks and I had all of my jewelry laid out on my dresser top and was shocked at the amount I have collected in a very short time span.

This does not include my necklaces, only the bracelets and watches and then my earrings are in one of the glass bowls and my rings in the other.  Sure there are probably people with larger collections than mine.  But for this rookie who a year ago thought rubber bands made cute bracelets, I would say I am making great progress!

What is your favorite type of jewelry??

Don’t forget to enter my giveaway to win $25 worth of e.l.f products!!  There are 6 days left, have you entered??

Hello Lovelies!

I have exciting news.  I know that I had mentioned that I would host a giveaway once I hit 30 followers (and I still plan on doing that) but I got an idea for a giveaway while I was shopping at Target yesterday and I was too excited and just had to do it now.  So in honor of Labor Day, my first ever giveaway!

I don’t know about you, but I don’t always feel like putting on makeup.  There are just days when I don’t want to mess with it and it feels too “labor-intensive” (pun intended).  When I feel like this, I especially don’t want to be dishing out my hard earned cash for a ton of cosmetic products that most days just sit on my shelf, unused.  Enter e.l.f. cosmetics.  When my best friend told me about this brand, I thought it was too good to be true.  I went to my nearest Target and, lo and behold, most definitely true.  They have every makeup option you could want:  eye shadows, bronzers, blushers, brushes, glosses and any other item to beautify yourself and I have yet to find an item over $6.  (*Side note:  on the website, they have larger sets for a bit more, but these are all single priced items).  This is the kind of product I can get behind.  I can load up my cart, not spend a fortune and then not feel guilty during the weeks days that I go without makeup.  I decided then and there, in the middle of the Target beauty section that I wanted to help you guys out!  I am going to be giving away $25 in e.l.f cosmetic products to one lucky reader.

You can see the options for entering below and you can do as many or as few of the items as you choose.  I have not put together the items yet, so you will be able to give me an idea of what you want included for a more customized option.  So get to entering!  This giveaway will probably be more interesting for the female readers but, guys you are more than welcome to enter as well!  Maybe you have a female loved one that you want to get a little something special for.  Or maybe you just like wearing makeup in your free time.  I don’t judge 🙂

This giveaway runs from now until 12:01 EST on Sept. 3 (Labor Day) so go check it out.  I’m not sure why the giveaway box is coming up as a link (below) rather than embedded in the page, but just click the link to complete the entries.

If you aren’t the lucky winner but still want to take advantage of the awesome pricing, I saw on the e.l.f. cosmetics website that they are currently offering free shipping for any order over $25!

*I am in no way affiliated with e.l.f cosmetics, I just really like the brand and wanted to share with you fantastic people!*

Good luck!!

A few days ago I found a fun website thanks to a blog that I read;  xo, Kym.  They just recently hosted a giveaway for a $50 gift card to use at the website and I am keeping my fingers crossed that I am the lucky winner.  The website is Buy Now or Never and they have a ton of designer accessories (think purses, watches, scarves, home furnishings and more) available at discounted prices.  I haven’t had as much time as I would like to go through the site, but what I have seen I definitely like.

I have been considering doing a giveaway once I reach 30 followers (I’m currently at 23, only 7 more to go before we could try a giveaway) and think that maybe something from this site could be a good first giveaway item.

What are your thoughts?  Do you like the website too?  What about the giveaway?  Any particular item you would like to win?

Hi All,

As I am reading through a lot of other blogs I have noticed (and enjoyed) the giveaways that many of them host and decided that it is something I would like to do.  I will do it after I hit some kind of milestone (either time period or number of followers) but wanted to know what kind of items you enjoy and what would make you register for a giveaway?  Also, if you have sponsored a giveaway in the past do you purchase the items yourself or do you pair up with a company/other blogger for the item?

You can either respond in the comments section or send me an email at  Thanks so much for all of your help, I really appreciate it!
