Hi Everyone!!  I hope you all had a fantastic Thanksgiving and were able to spend the time with the people you love.  And for those of you not in the US…  I hope you had a nice Thursday 🙂  Today I wanted to talk about three different topics and all of them begin with the letter B so I decided to combine them into one post.

Boots – I bought some boots online yesterday (more proof that I LOVE shoes).  These were some boots that I’ve wanted for a long time to replace an old pair that are literally falling apart on me.  But I wanted a good pair, and that means saving up some money.  Unless you shop after Thanksgiving.  I got the pair below in black.  Normally they are $90 and I got them for only $24.  Um..  Yes!!

Boots from Kohls – in Black

Black Friday – I went Black Friday shopping today.  It was only my third time going but this was my best ever.  My first year I just went with family.  I didn’t buy anything, just wanted to experience it.  Last year I went and just bought myself presents because I was shopping with all the people I needed to buy for.  This year, I still bought myself a couple items but for the most part got almost all of my Christmas shopping done!!  And I saved SO much money I was shocked.  I got two different sweaters for my brother.  Both sweaters were normally $50 each and I only had to spend $20 each.  And that was just a small portion of what I got.  I hope my family and friends are cool with receiving clothes because that’s the majority of what I bought; someone’s got to dress these people.  🙂  I wish we had one more Black Friday event so that I could finish the shopping I need and save even more money.  Black Friday is a fantastic event in my opinion.

Ok, mine was much less crazy than this… Kind of boring actually.

Speaking of Black Friday, my boutique (Quiet Girl Boutique) is having a huge Black Friday sale with items up to 50% off.  So if you still want to take advantage of sales but are over the crowds or if you live somewhere that Black Friday may not be a thing, come and check out our deals here!  Don’t forget to enter the giveaway for a $15 off a $30 purchase at Quiet Girl Boutique.  You still have 2 days left!! a Rafflecopter giveaway

Quiet Girl Boutique Black Friday Sale

BB Creme – Have you all tried BB creme?  Am I just late to this party?  I’ve used primer before and liked this but recently decided to try this (aka:  Ulta had a sale so I picked some up) and Oh. My. Goodness.  I have never experienced anything like it!!  In a magazine advertisement it is described as this:

“so beautifying, hydrating, unbelievably light.  It’s instant bare perfection.”

Normally I would see something like that say, “yeah right” and go on about my day.  But they are not lying.  The first time I used it, I washed my face and put this on before my makeup.  I hadn’t even put on a drop of makeup and my skin looked better than I have ever seen it look.  After my makeup, I almost didn’t recognize myself (in a good way)!  My skin had a glow that I always wish I could get and it gave me so much added confidence and self-esteem that I would have paid more than the $6-8 I paid (I don’t actually remember how much it cost).  This will definitely be an item forever in my daily routine!

This little tube is full of magic!!

What about you?  Did you Black Friday shop or are you a believer in the BB creme magic?

PS:  I made a pie yesterday and will be blogging about it later, complete with pictures!!

I love, love, love jewelry!  It is my favorite part of any outfit.  You can wear one dress and take it casual or formal depending on your jewelry and accessories.  No matter if you’ve gained 5 pounds indulging in holiday sweets or lost 10 pounds by working hard, your favorite necklace will still fit.  Because I love jewelry so much, I’ve always wanted to sell it some way.

However, I don’t have the time right now to devote to making my own jewelry (something I would like to try and accomplish in the future) and I don’t have the money to sign up as a consultant for Stella & Dot or Premier Designs.  Plus I don’t exactly have the time to devote to those either with parties, outreach, entering orders and all the other little aspects that add up in a small business of that type.  So I had put my jewelry business dreams on hold…  Until now!

I was recently introduced to Kitsy Lane.  An online community of jewelry boutiques owned by people like you and me.  After doing some research and discovering that this was a completely risk free way to sell jewelry to friends, family and complete strangers I decided to open my own boutique, Quiet Girl Boutique.

I came up with the name of my boutique based on the nickname I was given this past weekend while on my trip to South Carolina, Quiet Girl.  The more I thought about it, the more I loved it!  I am a quiet person and I don’t always have the words to say, however I have had many people start conversations based on the jewelry that I am wearing.  I like attention getting pieces that can give people a glimpse into your personality before they even introduce themselves to you.  So Quiet Girl Boutique was born so that you could “let your jewelry do the talking for the quiet girl in you.”

All pieces are hand-picked by yours truly and we have weekly flash sales that mark down the already discounted pieces.  The jewelry offered is from both up and coming designers as well as more well known designers.  The shop is still in the very beginning stages so will be changing and adding more inventory over the next days and weeks but I invite you to come, check it out and do a little shopping.

Ok.  We all know that’s not true.  If I had too much time on my hands, I would actually blog every once in a while.  Instead, I abandon my blog because I would rather sleep when I’m not working 40+ hours a week or in school 5 days a week.  But I liked the title and thought it fit with what I want to say.  The time change…  I (like most people) love and adore the fact that I now get an extra hour of sleep each day.  This past weekend I got to spend an extra hour out on the town with friends because of the time change and had a great time!  However, the not fun part…  Changing my clocks.  What a pain in the butt!

My cellphone and TV automatically change.  I had to change the clock next to my bed and in my car manually.  No big deal, right?  Well.  I’m a self-professed watch addict.  I have yet to see a watch I don’t love and when that happens I like to purchase them.  So now for the difficult part.  I have to now change all of these to the new time for the next 6 months before I have to change them all back.

Issues as a watch-addict

Do you have problems with the time change too or is it easier for you to adapt than me?

Come back tomorrow for another Trendy Tuesday!  That’s right, I’m planning on blogging two days in a row!!

I love accessories…  Like LOVE…  Maybe unnaturally.  I have more pairs of shoes than I know what to do with and yet shoes are always one of my first stops in a store.  I have yet to meet a purse I don’t like and am constantly hearing “ANOTHER purse??!!”  whenever I bring home my latest purchase.  I also adore hats but have a harder time with them because I was cursed gifted with a large head, so when I find one that is cute and fits I definitely snatch that right up!  But my real reason for writing today is the bling.  Jewelry.

Maybe because I am female, I was naturally inclined to favor sparkly, shiny baubles.  I mean there is a song based on this and everything (Diamonds are a girl’s best friend).  But there is something about jewelry that just makes me happy.  It doesn’t matter if I am having a fat day and want to stay in sweatpants all day long or feeling like I own the world and rocking an LBD, I can throw on a couple pieces of jewelry and feel complete.  Feel pretty.  It also doesn’t matter if you are a size 2 or a size 22, you can wear jewelry.  Maybe I have put on a couple pounds and struggle while zipping up my jeans, that necklace still fits.

I used to be the type of person who only liked silver jewelry and the simpler the design, the better.  But now I am branching out.  I have some gold pieces, some crazy colorful pieces and some bigger “look at me” pieces.  Thanks to companies like Premier Designs I am constantly updating my jewelry wardrobe.  I just went to a jewelry party this past weekend and picked up 5 new pieces!!  And that’s not counting the necklace I had purchased a week earlier from a different jewelry sales consultant.  Plus I am planning on having my own party later in the year where I will hopefully rake in the free and discounted jewelry to continue updating.

Over the weekend I was doing my usual cleaning/organizing/getting rid of crap routine that I do every few weeks and I had all of my jewelry laid out on my dresser top and was shocked at the amount I have collected in a very short time span.

This does not include my necklaces, only the bracelets and watches and then my earrings are in one of the glass bowls and my rings in the other.  Sure there are probably people with larger collections than mine.  But for this rookie who a year ago thought rubber bands made cute bracelets, I would say I am making great progress!

What is your favorite type of jewelry??

Don’t forget to enter my giveaway to win $25 worth of e.l.f products!!  There are 6 days left, have you entered??

I’ve been noticing a trend lately of wearing bracelets.  Lots of bracelets.  Most of the bracelets I have seen have been the friendship bracelets that I remember making growing up.  Do you remember these?

I always used to feel so cool when I would make these and wear them around with pride.  I was never far from thread and Scotch tape (to tape the thread down so I could braid it of course).  Well now I am going to relive my childhood and try to make some more.  The friendship bracelets that are so popular right now take the fun of the braided threads and add an adult spin (metal trinkets, crystals and more).  Here’s the bracelet that I am loving right now and will be attempting to make a version for myself this weekend.

I will try to make one this weekend and post pictures of the finished product.  If you want to try and make one yourself I found the DIY instructions for this over at Honestly…  WTF, take a look for yourself.
