When I think of my life, I don’t get excited.  Don’t get me wrong; I have a pretty decent life, there’s just no excitement.  My days consist of work, school, sleep, dinner, homework, maybe watch a sporting game.  Wash, rinse, repeat.  But when I think of my future??  That’s where the excitement builds.  I have so much that I see for myself and hope to accomplish that I just get excited.  But I come from a long line of talkers and not doers, so I get worried that maybe these are all just dreams and things that would be fun or exciting but I won’t actually come close to ever doing.

So I have decided to create a bucket list of items I hope to accomplish in my lifetime.  I’m hoping that by actually putting pen to paper (and then going the extra step of posting it for all of the world to see) I will actually have the get up and go needed to go through the list.  So in no particular order here is my somewhat long, and always evolving list of things that I want to do during my lifetime.

  • Skydive – This will probably be the last thing I check off…  If I die, I want to go knowing I did everything else on the list!
  • Live in a foreign country for at least 1 year.
  • Visit each continent – Yes even Antarctica.
  • Try out for a professional dance job – I may not get the job or accept the job, but I want to challenge myself and at least try.
  • Receive a Bachelor’s degree – Halfway to a BS in Athletic Training as we speak!
  • Receive a Doctorate degree – Hoping to become a Physical Therapist
  • Get married – Aww
  • Have a baby – I know, this is probably on every girl’s bucket list but I really want to be a mom…  I would actually take this over the “get married” if I had to choose.
  • Complete “El Santiago del Camino” – No clue what this is?  Check out the movie The Way.  It follows a few characters  as they complete this same journey and it is SUCH a great movie!!
  • Learn a foreign language (or brush up on my high school Spanish) and use in the native country.
  • Learn a musical instrument – I’m thinking guitar or piano…  Guitar is smaller though and easier to transport during all my travelling adventures.
  • Learn how to snowboard – For anyone that knows me, I’m a klutz.  Strapping my feet to a piece of wood and hurtling myself down the side of a mountain shouldn’t sound fun for people like me…  But I am dying to learn!!
  • Zip-line through a rainforest or jungle.
  • Lean to surf – I should probably learn to swim first??  ….
  • Go on a blind date – This just seems like that fun thing that “everyone should try once.”
  • Go on a missions trip.
  • Ride in a hot air balloon – I’m still deciding on this one actually.  I don’t do great with heights and you aren’t enclosed or strapped down in a hot air balloon so…  I may end up chickening out.
  • Pet a kangaroo in Australia – That’s right.  No local zoo trips to pet the kangaroos for me!
  • Work with Doctors Without Borders – Does something like this even exist for Physical Therapists??
  • Work an Olympics Game – How amazing an experience would it be to work with the athletes from an Olympic Games?!
  • See the Northern Lights in person.
  • Go to an ice bar.
  • Go to an ice hotel.
  • Learn to play poker and play in a real casino.
  • Sleep on a beach, underneath the stars.
  • Go white water rafting – Again, should probably learn to swim?
  • Go deep-sea fishing….  I have a thing for water.
  • Drive (or ride) on the Autobahn.
  • Attend a World Series/Superbowl/Stanley Cup/World Cup/Tennis Championship game – notice I put nothing about basketball?  Yeah, I don’t care so much about that.
  • Go on an African Safari
  • Attend a Fashion Week fashion show

So there you have it.  My list as it stands now but I think of new things every day and change items and completely remove other items.  I have a couple of trips planned in the next year or so that could probably help me knock a couple of these items out.
Do you have a bucket list?  What are some of the things you want to accomplish in your lifetime?
